Dedication of Center for Blind Cambodians
25 March 2005

Maryknoll's first project in Cambodia, in the early 1990s, was an effort to provide services for blind people. At that time, there were no organizations working with blind Cambodians. That was the beginning of Rehabilitation for Blind Cambodians (RBC) which is now an independent local NGO. It is one of the success stories of NGO work in Cambodia, a group that has actually become self-governing, with financial help from international sources. RBC put up their own center with help from the Nippon Foundation in Japan, and today was the new building's dedication.
